This Friday, King Charles III will visit Wales as the final stage of his tour through the four British countries to become the new sovereign of the United Kingdom. He has been to England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland before.
Camilla, the queen consort of King and Queen, will fly by helicopter to Cardiff where they will attend a service in memory of Elizabeth II, who died last week aged 96.
They will also attend an extraordinary session Welsh autonomous Parliament, where a motion of condolence will be made for the sovereign, who has held the British throne since more than seventy years. They will also visit Cardiff Castle where they will have a private meeting with Mark Drakeford, the Chief Minister of Wales.
Carlos III will be meeting religious leaders at Buckingham Palace in the afternoon. He will then participate in a ten minute vigil around Elizabeth II’s coffin with his brothers, Ana, Andres, and Eduardo, just like they did in the burning chapel in Edinburgh earlier in the week.
On Sunday, the monarch will host a reception with heads of state or dignitaries who will be visiting the UK to attend Monday’s sovereign’s funeral.
