About the Beacon

The Beacon is Palm Beach Atlantic University's weekly Student Newspaper. The paper goes to print every Thursday and is distributed every Monday throughout campus, instead on breaks and black out days. Though the Beacon has been around since 2004, it follows in the tradition of past PBA publications such as The Compass and The Rudder. The Beacon officially launched it's website, readmybeacon.com, Fall 2010.

The paper is made up of an editorial staff of eight, including the paper's advisor and executive editor John Sizemore, and a weekly staff of 18 .

The managing editor acts as the liason between the paper and the community. The editor oversees and is responsible for the content and opinions represented in the paper. The hiring of the other six editors , including the art director and web editor, is discussed between the managing editor and the executive editor.

The opinions expressed in the Beacon are not necessarily those of the PBA administration, staff or faculty.

If you would like to advertise or find out more information about advertising with the Beacon, check out this form or email John Sizmore.
